Dear Friends
of the Olim Fund of the Galilee,
The Board of Advisors met last evening
to conduct the difficult but extremely gratifying allocation of
your generous gifts to our olim families who are in the greatest
need among the many who have been seeking emergency assistance.
I am especially pleased to report this
month that for the first time we were able to fund a major dental
need through a local clinic here in Tiberias. The dentist is a
Christian Arab from a local village who feels called to meet the
dental needs of both immigrants from Lebanon and our own Jewish
olim. He charges the Fund something less than 25% of his usual
fees which are already less than half of what is usually charged
in America for the same services. We are really excited about
this new outreach and will do our best to expand its use as we
are able through your gifts.
As many of you may know, the situation
in Israel is at an all time level of hostilities and the economy
continues to be severely impacted. So many of our new immigrants
can't find work and are left in terrible survival level need when
their government support expires.
Very recently I read a report from a major
Messianic Jewish ministry in the United States that is under the
very false impression that the Israeli government provides for
all of the needs of all of its people. This simply is not true.
There are many, not a few, new immigrants in Israel that cannot
meet their survival level requirements, and while there are a
variety of mission outreaches, these, collectively, are by no
means sufficient to meet these very real and very serious requirements.
I urge you to review this current report of the Fund's activities
as well as the earlier reports that are posted on this site.
Again, I want to assure you that every
penny that is donated to the Fund will find its way into the hands
of an olim family whom our Board has determined is in a prioritized
great need.
As a representative of the Fund, and even
more as an American immigrant to Israel I want to again express
the great depth of our appreciation for your continuing generosity.
It is only you who have made the following gifts possible and
I know that you will be greatly blessed for having done so.
In the love of Yeshua,
Bob Fischer
